So, I DID IT! I went from sitting on the sofa — at times watching Shark Tank, or American Idol and thinking — would I be able to? Would I be able to go before influential strangers that have the ability to open a doorway for my dream, and present to them my passion, and not pass out?
The Pitch fest was worth every second and penny. It was held at the Century Plaza in Beverly Hills. Robert Kosberg, known as The King of the Pitch in Hollywood, held the workshop and we broke up into groups of 50 to practice our Pitch in front of a coach and 49 onlookers. Then, having been given a time slot, we approached and alternated between 7 tables for 2 minutes at each to sit across from various movie producers and share with them the vision of our book making it to the big screen.
I thought I would be nervous, but I had many prayers and well-wishers supporting me. I think an angel even appeared over my hotel balcony the morning of the pitch. (Photo attached, and no, that is not the moon).
So I came out of that room, feeling exhilarated by knowing: “I have done my very best.” And what more could one hope for? I encourage anyone reading this: Do not be afraid. Take risks. When it comes to your purpose — your life’s passion — give all you’ve got!
I won’t know the results, i.e. if there was any interest at all for possibly another week. But I am happy come what may, having gone out of my comfort zone to put it all on the line. So…JUST DO IT!
